Overview:We are seeking an experienced Mechanical / Process Piping Engineer to support facility systems and manufacturing operations at a high-tech production site. This role will focus on the design, optimization, and reliability of critical utility and process piping systems supporting fab and lab environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Partner with engineering and operations teams to maintain, expand, and improve mechanical and process piping systems supporting site utilities
- Develop conceptual and detailed designs for facility systems and manufacturing tool installation projects
- Act as system owner for key mechanical and process systems, including process cooling water, compressed air, chilled water (CHW), hot water (HHW), chillers, and cooling towers
- Perform calculations and analysis to support energy efficiency and cost optimization initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, project managers, contractors, and vendors to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget
- Support ongoing operations by ensuring high system reliability and uptime
- Evaluate facility capacity, performance, and reliability; recommend upgrades or expansions as needed
- Review and inspect construction and maintenance work to ensure alignment with design specifications
- Lead coordination with designers and drafters to produce accurate project documentation
- Present technical information and project updates to leadership as needed
- Support system startup, optimization, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for system failures
- Clearly communicate scope of work to contractors using drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Provide support during system outages or emergency situations to restore operations
Qualifications:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Systems Engineering (or related field)
- 10+ years of experience in industrial or semiconductor manufacturing environment, with a focus on facilities systems and process piping design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Arizona
- Strong understanding of mechanical utility systems and infrastructure in manufacturing environments
- Proven ability to troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across technical and operational teams
- Self-motivated and capable of prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment
