Summary

Banner Business Analyst Location: Remote Contract: 6+ Month W2 only

 Banner Expertise
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Ellucian Banner
  • Experience across key Banner modules, particularly:
    • Student
    • Accounts Receivable (AR)
    • Financial Aid
  • Understands how Banner supports higher education business processes
Core BA Responsibilities
  • Leads and facilitates meetings with business and technical stakeholders
  • Knows how to run an effective requirements-gathering session, not just participate in one
  • Creates the full range of BA artifacts, including:
    • Business and functional requirements
    • Process flows
    • User stories and acceptance criteria
    • Current-state / future-state documentation
    • Gap analyses
    • Meeting notes, decisions, and action items
  • Translates business needs into clear requirements for technical teams
Additional Technology Knowledge
  • Familiarity with Canvas LMS
  • Understanding of Ellucian Ethos and how it supports integrations/data exchange across higher education systems
Leadership / Next-Level Skills
  • Able to mentor more junior Business Analysts
  • Can establish BA best practices and improve the team's processes
  • Comfortable working independently with stakeholders
  • Strong enough in Banner to challenge requirements, identify gaps, and recommend solutions rather than simply documenting what stakeholders request
