Description

We are looking for an experienced IT Security & Support Manager to lead cybersecurity operations and user support services in Asheville, North Carolina. This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, guiding security initiatives, strengthening service delivery, and promoting a reliable technology environment across the organization. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in cyber risk management, enterprise IT operations, and team leadership, with the ability to coordinate effectively across technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.

Responsibilities:

Oversee daily IT support activities and service management practices to ensure dependable, high-quality assistance for end users.

Design, implement, and refine the organization's cybersecurity program in alignment with established security controls and governance standards.

Direct enterprise-wide vulnerability management, security event monitoring, and coordinated response efforts for identified threats.

Act as the lead decision-maker during cybersecurity incidents, driving containment, recovery, root-cause review, and formal documentation.

Work closely with third-party security providers, auditors, insurance representatives, and other external partners to support risk and compliance objectives.

Maintain and regularly validate incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans to improve organizational resilience.

Champion security awareness efforts by developing and managing training programs that strengthen employee understanding of cyber risks and safe practices.

Manage help desk and support delivery functions, using service metrics and user feedback to improve responsiveness, efficiency, and overall experience.

Partner with infrastructure, operations, and development teams to promote secure system design, assess technology risks, and support compliant architecture across enterprise and manufacturing environments.

Lead, coach, and resource cybersecurity and IT support team members while tracking audit remediation activities to ensure timely corrective action.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
At least 7 years of progressive experience spanning cybersecurity, infrastructure, or broader IT operations.
Proven experience leading teams, major initiatives, or cross-functional programs in a technology environment.
Strong understanding of recognized security frameworks, security operations, and risk management principles.
Hands-on familiarity with tools and practices related to SIEM, EDR, IAM, and vulnerability management.
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, and core cloud security concepts.
Understanding of IT service management methodologies, including ITIL-based support processes.
Experience supporting manufacturing or multi-site operations is preferred, along with authorization to work in the United States.
