Summary

We are seeking a Senior Oracle Database Engineer/DBA for a long-term contract in Austin, TX.

It is a Hybrid role with 2 days remote / 3 days onsite (Mon, Tues & Fri)


Required skills:

  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience with Oracle databases on Linux platforms, including strong expertise in shell scripting, SQL, and PL/SQL.
  • Deep knowledge of Oracle internal views, performance tuning, and database optimization techniques.
  • Extensive experience managing Oracle Database 19c, including Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Active Data Guard.
  • Proven ability to design, install, configure, and maintain large-scale databases in enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience developing automation tools to manage large numbers of development and test database environments.
  • Hands-on experience with 24x7 production support, including participation in on-call rotations.
  • Expertise in database infrastructure setup across multiple data centers, including cloud environments (AWS preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in migrating databases and applications across physical and cloud environments.
  • Experience with Oracle Exadata administration, including configuration, patching, and performance tuning.
  • Working knowledge of MSSQL Server and EDB PostgreSQL Enterprise database administration.
  • Strong experience performing database refreshes, cloning, and provisioning for development and testing environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex database and infrastructure issues, including coordination with vendors for resolution.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with IT service management and ticketing tools, such as:
  • ServiceNow
  • Remedy
  • ITSM platforms
  • PPM tools
