Role Overview
We are seeking an Integration and Test (I&T) Engineer to support an Engineering and Sciences organization. The selected candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers. This position requires the candidate to function in a dynamic environment and will be 100% on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the installation, integration, and testing of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom equipment for research on superconducting microelectronic devices.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and remediate equipment issues to support system build-out and sell-off.
- Communicate project status to the Integration and Test (I&T) lead.
- Collaborate with research scientists and systems engineers to perform system architecture characterization studies.
- Design, develop, and implement testing methods for equipment and entire systems.
- Compile data and help define changes required in testing methodology, equipment, and procedures.
- Perform hands-on electrical testing at the component and systems level.
- Incorporate hardware and/or software design changes.
- Document and disposition hardware discrepancies, pursuing root cause and corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience (Level 3): A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent STEM discipline with 5 years of experience, or a Master of Science with 3 years of experience. Secret Clearance
Education & Experience (Level 4): A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent STEM discipline with 8 years of experience, or a Master of Science with 6 years of experience. Secret Clearance
Technical Skills & Experience:- An active DoD Secret Level security clearance is required.
- Experience in electrical testing, diagnostics, and formal requirements decomposition with traceability and verification.
- Ability to diagnose complex issues, lead problem-solving efforts, and drive tasks to completion.
- Working knowledge of standard test equipment such as network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, synthesizers, digitizers, and/or signal analyzers.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming environments: MATLAB, C, C++, C#, and/or Python.
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership of small projects or teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with poly security clearance.
- Experience creating automated test scripts that integrate with hardware interfaces.
- Working knowledge of standard design components such as filters, couplers, splitters, and amplifiers.
- Experience working with operational hazards such as overhead lifting, thermal chambers, and vibration test systems.
- Experience with MES or other digital work instruction platforms.
- A track record of driving innovation and spearheading digital-transformation initiatives in test workflows.
- Experience engaging external customers through meetings, presentations, and technical negotiations.
