Role Overview
An opportunity is available for an Electrical Engineer with at least four years of experience to join as a hands-on contributor. This is a 12+ month contract role based fully onsite in Irvine, California. The position involves working under the supervision of senior engineers to support the design, testing, and refinement of implantable medical device systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for implantable medical devices.
- Perform analysis, troubleshooting, and identify bugs and issues in electrical designs.
- Execute design remediation by fixing, refining, or correcting existing designs.
- Create and test PCBs, making design decisions and managing trade-offs.
- Own and prepare comprehensive documentation, including design specifications and test reports.
- Operate within a design controls framework, adhering to documentation standards and change management concepts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing.
- Communicate technical work, decisions, and trade-offs clearly.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering is required.
Experience: A minimum of four years of hands-on experience as an individual contributor is required. This includes experience designing and testing PCBs, owning design work, and making technical decisions. Candidates must have experience operating within design control frameworks.
Technical Skills: Candidates must demonstrate hands-on electrical design and debugging expertise, including troubleshooting and design remediation. Proficiency in creating and maintaining design documentation is necessary. The ability to clearly articulate technical specifics is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with implantable medical devices.
- Experience working in a regulated industry.
- Experience with verification and validation testing.
