A Telecommunications Network Engineer is needed to support a growing portfolio of federal and defense-related technology projects. This role focuses on supporting Protected Distribution Systems (PDS), ensuring Department of Defense (DoD) compliance, and leading various telecommunications and network infrastructure initiatives.
Responsibilities include PDS assessments, network design, quality control, site scheduling and coordination, team leadership, and collaboration with internal IT teams.
Required Certifications- BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) - required
- AutoDesk certification in AutoCAD or Revit, or strong proficiency in Microsoft Visio - required
Top Required Skills- BICSI RCDD certification.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience designing, planning, implementing, and maintaining high-speed network cabling systems and IT facilities.
- AutoCAD, Revit, or Visio proficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesPDS & DoD Compliance- Evaluate existing PDS conduit pathways to ensure compliance with current DoD standards.
- Assess, identify, and collect IT infrastructure requirements (pathways, spaces, cabling, power, cooling, etc.) to support new or existing PDS installation requests.
Design & Documentation- Prepare detailed design documentation including:
- Floor plans
- Rack elevations
- Installation specifications
- Statements of work
- Budgetary cost estimates
- Project schedules
- Present and review design packages with internal teams and customer stakeholders.
Project Coordination & Implementation- Collaborate with contracts teams, facilities personnel, and installation partners to implement approved designs.
- Conduct pre-construction design reviews, quality control checks, and post-construction inspections to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Coordinate construction activities and implementation of telecommunications and technology systems supporting both unclassified and classified network environments.
Field Work & Scheduling- Coordinate site surveys, installation schedules, security escorts, and required inspections with customers and operations partners.
- Lead or support day-to-day operations as needed for projects under your responsibility.
Internal Collaboration- Work closely with internal design teams to identify opportunities to improve infrastructure and services.
- Assist internal IT teams as needed to support ongoing operations.
Preferred Qualifications- Active or previous security clearance (preferred).
- 1-2 years of experience with DoD standards for IT infrastructure design and installation supporting Protected Distribution Systems (PDS).

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62.50 - $72.11/hr.
