About the Job

Our government agency client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Applications and Software Development team. In this role, you will analyze system flows, modernize legacy platforms, and build robust web-based solutions. All work products resulting from this project are considered "works made for hire" and remain the property of the client. Potential candidates must satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by state law, and no fees will be paid for interviews or discussions during the candidate selection process.

Responsibilities
  • Perform highly advanced, senior-level computer programming and investigate system problem areas to resolve technical limitations.
  • Develop software solutions by evaluating information needs, conferring with users, and analyzing systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
  • Design, test, debug, and document complex programs for client/server and web-based applications.
  • Create and enhance front-end and back-end web applications using HTML5, CSS, C# .NET Blazor, SQL, Stored Procedures, Oracle, and SQL Server.
  • Collaborate with systems analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to validate requirements and model functional solutions.
  • Provide application support through problem diagnosis and implement changes to maintain current software levels.
  • Modernize state licensing systems by migrating functionality to new platforms utilizing Visual Studio 2022, .NET Core 9.0, Oracle DB, and DevExpress while ensuring legacy data portability.
  • Recommend continuous improvements to application development processes and perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • 8+ years of senior-level experience analyzing software application systems workflow processes to identify environment efficiencies.
  • 8+ years of experience conducting root cause analysis and resolution.
  • 8+ years of experience leading the design and development of web-based software applications.
  • 8+ years of experience programming in languages including .Net, HTML, HTML5, ASP, Java, JSP, .NET/C#, SQL, and stored procedures, utilizing both front-end and back-end interface methodologies.
  • 8+ years of experience independently performing complex tasks across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • 8+ years of experience in software application administration and management.
  • 8+ years of experience leading SDLC projects from scope to deployment, including coordination with organizational change control boards and release schedules.
  • 6+ years of experience working with Agile SDLC methodology.
  • 6+ years of experience in cross-team collaboration for requirements gathering, software development, and maintenance.
  • 5+ years of experience programming software modifications to meet information security requirements and maintain network integrity.
  • 5+ years of experience leading SDLC teams, including code validation and peer review approval.
  • 5+ years of experience writing technical documentation for environment changes, network updates, and release notes.
  • 5+ years of experience presenting in-person software application demonstrations to secure customer design approval.
  • 4+ years of experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar project management tools.
  • 2+ years of experience programming specifically in C# .NET Blazor.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience porting existing codebase from Java to C# .NET Blazor.
  • Knowledge and implementation experience with responsive web design practices.
  • Knowledge and implementation experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  • Previous experience working directly with internal state agency enterprise systems.
