Summary

Job Title: Accountant 

Location: Washington, DC (Remote Optional)

Hours: 15-20 hours per week (flexible schedule)

Job Types: Part-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional on-site visits (Saturday is also an option)


Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to support our financial operations. The ideal candidate will be local to Washington, and willing to work on a part-time basis, with occasional on-site visits as needed.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily bookkeeping and manage financial records.
  • Handle accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) processes.
  • Prepare and send invoices to clients and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Collect timesheets from vendors and candidates.
  • Collect bills or receipts from the internal team and update records accordingly.
  • Reconcile bank statements to maintain accuracy.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closings.
  • Coordinate with ADP and CA teams for payroll and accounting needs.
  • Process payroll tax credits and coordinate with state authorities for any notices or discrepancies related to tax payments.
  • Perform payroll software audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Prepare financial reports and statements as needed.
  • Follow up with clients and vendors to resolve outstanding matters.


Qualifications:

  • Proven bookkeeping and accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks.
  • Strong understanding of A/R, A/P, and payroll processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to invoice clients and manage payment records.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and internal teams.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (preferred).


Experience:

  • 3+ years of accounting experience (preferred).
  • 3+ years of QuickBooks experience (preferred).


Location:

  • Must be local to Washington, DC


Additional Requirements:

  • Open to part-time work (15-20 hours per week).
  • Available for occasional on-site visits (Saturday is an option).
  • Ability to coordinate with state authorities regarding tax notices.
  • Familiarity with payroll tax credit processes and ADP systems.
