The OpportunityWe are collaborating with multiple companies in Grand Haven seeking experienced Controls Engineers. Key Responsibilities- Designs, develops, and tests control systems and software for manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoots and resolves complex electrical and software issues in production environments.
- Implements and optimizes PLC programs, HMI interfaces, and robotic control systems.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define control system requirements and specifications.
- Develops and maintains technical documentation for control systems, including schematics and user manuals.
- Participates in the commissioning and startup of new equipment and production lines.
- Ensures compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements for control systems.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives for control system performance and reliability.
Recommended Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing control systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens) and HMI/SCADA development.
- Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus).
- Experience with robotics (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA, ABB) and vision systems is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex control system issues and perform root cause analysis.
