Controls Engineer | Norton Shores, MI

Salary Range: $84,000 - $129,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Norton Shores seeking Controls Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test control systems for manufacturing processes.
  • Program PLCs, HMIs, and industrial robots for automated production lines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and software issues in control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new equipment and process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for control systems and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations for all control systems.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000 preferred) and HMI development.
  • Proven experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP).
  • Strong understanding of robotics and motion control systems (e.g., ABB, KUKA, FANUC).
  • Experience with vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) and their integration into control architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues in a manufacturing environment.
