The OpportunityWe are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Grand Haven that are seeking skilled Automation Engineers. Key Responsibilities- Design and implement automated manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing automation systems.
- Develop and maintain PLC and HMI programs.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify automation opportunities.
- Perform root cause analysis for automation-related issues.
- Select, configure, and integrate robotic systems and vision systems.
Recommended Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, robotics, or control systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA development.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus).
- Experience with vision systems, sensors, and other automation hardware.
Bonus Qualifications- Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., AI/ML, digital twins) in a manufacturing context.
- Certifications in relevant automation platforms (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and how automation supports them.
