OverviewTEKsystems is seeking a strong AV Service Technician based in
New Jersey to support a national enterprise AV integrator. This is a field-based service role supporting corporate customers across the
New York City to Philadelphia service region, with New Jersey as the central hub.
Service locations routinely include Northern and Central New Jersey, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Long Island, Lower Westchester, and the greater Philadelphia area. Travel is typically within a two-hour drive depending on daily ticket assignments.
This role is focused on AV service and support, not new installations or full-scale integration. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, system checks, and basic software or configuration adjustments in executive boardrooms, conference centers, and enterprise collaboration spaces.

Key ResponsibilitiesRespond to AV service tickets throughout
New Jersey and the NYC-Philadelphia corridor.
Troubleshoot AV system issues including control interfaces, audio problems, video routing, and connectivity failures.
Identify and isolate AV-related network issues such as IP conflicts, basic connectivity problems, and switch-level concerns.
Navigate DSP platforms to review configurations, identify faults, and support audio diagnostics; Biamp Tesira experience is strongly preferred.
Use Crestron Toolbox for device diagnostics, system checks, and basic troubleshooting.
Apply firmware updates, perform device resets, and execute minor configuration changes as required.
Support and service technologies including:
- Crestron (DM, NVX, touch panels)
- Biamp Tesira DSP
- Extron and AMX control systems (basic familiarity helpful)
- Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and Cisco endpoints
- AV-over-IP platforms such as NVX and SDVoE
- Displays, projectors, video walls, and switching systems
Collaborate with IT teams when network-related issues are identified.
Document all service activity clearly and professionally.
Required Skills3+ years of hands-on AV field service experience with an AV integration or services company.
Strong troubleshooting ability in live corporate environments.
Experience navigating DSP platforms for system review and fault diagnosis; Biamp Tesira highly preferred.
Experience using Crestron Toolbox for diagnostics and basic system management.
Solid understanding of AV signal flow, audio/video routing, EDID, HDCP, and common AV hardware.
Basic networking knowledge including IP addressing, VLAN awareness, and entry-level switch troubleshooting.
Ability to read drawings, wiring schematics, and system documentation.
Soft SkillsProfessional communication with corporate and executive users.
Ability to manage service tickets independently.
Calm, methodical troubleshooting in high-visibility environments.
Customer-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
Travel RequirementsDaily field travel based out of
New Jersey, servicing locations between
New York City and Philadelphia.
No overnight travel required; technicians return home each day.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)CTS, CTS-I, Biamp, Crestron, QSC, Dante, or similar AV industry certifications.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
