Description: Our client is currently seeking a SQL Server DBA
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in database administration combined with analytical skills, troubleshooting discipline, and a proactive mindset.
Core Skills & Experience:
5+ years of professional experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
SQL Server Administration: installation, configuration, patching, backups, clustering/HA, and performance tuning.
Typical Day in the Role & Expectations:
Manage and monitor SQL Server and DB2 environments for performance, health, and stability.
Perform backup/restore operations, validate job success, and support DR readiness activities.
Execute database deployments, upgrades, and patching within change management policies.
Support Development & DevOps teams with troubleshooting ETL processes, stored procedures, and webpage or API data issues.
Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
Develop automation scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
Support on-call rotations for production incidents affecting databases or dependent applications.
Language Requirement:
The candidate must be fluent in Spanish (spoken and written) to effectively collaborate with business, development, and operations teams in Puerto Rico.
