About the Role
The Service Repair Technician is responsible for performing repairs, testing, and maintenance of laser systems and related components within a service depot environment. This role supports troubleshooting activities, service documentation, shipment preparation, and continuous improvement initiatives while working under the guidance of senior technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs, testing, and maintenance on laser systems and subsystems.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and repair documentation to complete service tasks accurately.
  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electronic, and optical components.
  • Inspect, prepare, and package systems and components for shipment.
  • Enter service and repair data into ERP and CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians on complex repairs and escalations.
  • Participate in training to expand knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and optical systems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including adherence to 5S principles.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying and suggesting process improvements.
  • Interpret electrical drawings.
  • Work with industrial lasers, accessories, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Troubleshoot high-voltage and low-voltage electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Travel occasionally for field repairs or support projects as required.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree or technical degree preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience in a similar role.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience with industrial laser systems, including cutting, welding, or marking applications.
  • Experience working with laser, electrical, or electro-mechanical systems.
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
  • Proficient mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting ability.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and safety procedures consistently.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a repair environment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer and test equipment.
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to navigate facilities and travel as needed.
  • Availability to work either 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime possible based on business needs and approval.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with industrial lasers, accessories, and related diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience with 5S, Lean, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems.
  • Eagerness to learn from senior technicians and develop technical skills across multiple disciplines.
