Role Overview
The SAFe Agile Coach leads and supports the enterprise Agile transformation journey, ensuring alignment across teams, programs, and business stakeholders.
The role involves coaching leadership, facilitating SAFe ceremonies, and improving delivery outcomes through Agile best practices.
Key Responsibilities
1. SAFe Implementation & Transformation
•Lead the adoption and rollout of SAFe across teams and programs.
•Define and implement:
oAgile Release Trains (ARTs)
oValue streams
oSAFe governance structures
•Develop and execute the Agile transformation roadmap.
2. Coaching & Mentoring
•Coach:
oScrum Masters
oProduct Owners
oRelease Train Engineers (RTEs)
oLeadership teams
•Promote Agile mindset and principles across the organization.
•Support teams in transitioning from traditional delivery to Agile/SAFe.
3. Program Increment (PI) Planning
•Facilitate and guide PI Planning events.
•Ensure alignment of:
oBusiness objectives
oTeam commitments
oCross-team dependencies
•Support backlog readiness and prioritization.
4. Agile Delivery Excellence
•Improve team performance by:
oRemoving impediments
oEnhancing collaboration
oDriving continuous improvement
•Introduce best practices in:
oScrum
oKanban
oLean Agile delivery
5. Governance & Metrics
•Establish Agile governance frameworks.
•Track and report key metrics such as:
oVelocity
oPredictability
oPI objectives achievement
•Ensure visibility of program progress to stakeholders.
6. Stakeholder & Leadership Engagement
•Work closely with senior leadership to:
oAlign Agile initiatives with business goals
oDrive cultural change
•Conduct executive briefings and Agile maturity assessments.
7. DevOps & Continuous Improvement
•Promote DevOps practices and CI/CD adoption.
•Identify bottlenecks and optimize workflows.
•Drive continuous improvement initiatives across teams.
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
•10–15+ years of experience in Agile delivery and transformation.
•Hands-on experience with enterprise Agile frameworks (SAFe preferred).
Certifications (Preferred)
•SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)
•SAFe Agilist (SA)
•Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
•PMI-ACP or equivalent Agile certifications
