Senior Business Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Midtown Manhattan that is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join an Enterprise Data Management team supporting a firm-wide data platform. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a mandatory hybrid schedule of 2 days per week onsite in Midtown NYC.

Responsibilities:
* Business Analyst will partner with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and translate requirements into delivery-ready technical requirements
* Serve as a liaison between business users and Engineering, QA, Data, and Production Support teams
* Write and manage epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items
* Independently drive initiatives from discovery through testing, implementation, and release
* Perform hands-on SQL analysis, data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting
* Analyze systems, processes, data flows, and downstream impacts
* As a Business Analyst, you will support adoption and enhancement of enterprise data platforms through stakeholder feedback and user engagement
* Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on requirements, data analysis, and troubleshooting

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5-7 years of Business Analysis, Product Management, or data platform experience
* Financial services experience; Asset management or wealth management strongly preferred
* Strong requirements-gathering experience, including epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements
* Strong Agile delivery experience
* Experience partnering directly with business and technical teams
* Experience mentoring junior analysts or serving as a senior team resource
* Strong hands-on SQL skills with the ability to independently query, analyze, validate, and troubleshoot data
* Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills
* Ability to independently lead workstreams with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong financial services experience, with asset management or wealth management strongly preferred
* Experience working with investment, portfolio, client, account, security, issuer, position, or other financial data
* Strong hands-on SQL experience, ideally with Snowflake, SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Oracle, or similar enterprise data environments
* Experience with data quality, reconciliation, validation, lineage, and master/reference data
* Experience working directly with both business stakeholders and technical teams, including Engineering and QA
* Product Owner or product-management experience, including backlog prioritization and roadmap ownership
* Experience independently leading data or platform initiatives and providing guidance to junior analysts
* Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar Agile tools
* Demonstrated ability to translate unclear business needs into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, and backlog items

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
