Business Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Business Analyst in New York, NY.

Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with business SMEs and project stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements
* Translate business needs into clear feature requirements and acceptance criteria
* Support source-to-target data mapping between legacy financial-services systems and the new platform
* Analyze legacy datasets and help determine how business information should map into the target environment
* Use SQL and data analysis techniques as needed to understand, validate, and support mapping activities
* Document business processes, requirements, dependencies, assumptions, and issues
* Collaborate with solution analysts who will translate business requirements into more detailed technical specifications
* Work across multiple integration points involving APIs, files, and batch processes
* Participate in stakeholder and project meetings and proactively surface questions, risks, and gaps
* Maintain project documentation within Jira, Confluence, and Excel
* Collaborate with PMs, product owners, workstream leads, solution analysts, and technical teams throughout the conversion
* Gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements and traceability
* Facilitating stakeholder workshops and identifying risks, issues, and dependencies
* Translating business needs into functional requirements and actionable deliverables
* Conducting fit-for-purpose gap analyses between business requirements and vendor platform capabilities
* Developing user stories, process flows, data requirements, acceptance criteria, and related documentation
* Supporting data mapping, testing, defect resolution, and business validation activities
* Serving as a liaison between business stakeholders, platform vendors, third-party vendors, and delivery teams to ensure alignment throughout the implementation lifecycle

REQUIREMENTS:
* The ideal candidate is a hands-on BA who understands data, rather than a technical data professional who happens to have requirements experience
* The strongest candidate will likely have 3-5 years of post-college experience and come from a financial-services environment where they have worked on requirements, system conversions, data mapping, or platform implementations
* Direct trust migration experience is highly desirable but not required; Someone with strong wealth or investment-management domain knowledge combined with BA and source-to-target mapping experience should still be considered

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
