The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates has partnered with an established, premier professional services firm to identify a high-caliber financial leader to serve as the Senior Finance Manager. Operating in a hybrid capacity out of Long Island, New York, this pivotal role directly supports executive leadership and spearheads the financial strategy, partnership accounting, and fiscal governance of the organization.

As a trusted advisor to the executive suite, you will champion operational efficiency, elevate reporting frameworks, and direct a dedicated accounting team. This is a rare, high-impact opportunity to infuse modern financial strategies into a sophisticated, collaborative, and highly successful practice environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Execute comprehensive fiscal oversight across all core accounting functions, including the general ledger, multi-tiered cash management, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and rigorous month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Architect specialized professional partnership accounting structures, precisely monitoring client trust accounts, legal billing workflows, overhead allocations, and work-in-progress (WIP) valuations.
  • Synthesize complex monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, transforming raw financial data into actionable, strategic insights for executive leadership.
  • Drive corporate compliance initiatives, supervising business tax filings (including 1099s, sales and use tax, state-specific corporate filings, and PTET distributions) alongside the preparation and deployment of partner K-1 schedules.
  • Champion benefit and tax administration governance, orchestrating comprehensive plan audits, insurance renewal data aggregation, and regulatory compliance filings like Form 5500s.
  • Streamline organizational workflows across financial planning, budgeting, and billing departments to minimize aged receivables, maximize collection velocity, and optimize revenue realization.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous development, collaborative problem-solving, and superior service orientation.
  • Optimize proprietary financial management systems, leading software upgrades, dashboard configuration, and digital integrations to automate reporting and maximize data transparency.

What You Bring:

  • Educational & Professional Credentials: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is mandatory; a CPA designation is highly preferred.
  • Domain Expertise: A minimum of 7 to 10+ years of progressive, upwardly mobile accounting leadership experience, explicitly embedded within a legal or partnership-structured professional services organization.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep, practical knowledge of specialized partnership equity structures, rigorous multi-client trust accounts, compliance regulations, and advanced financial reporting methodologies.
  • Systems Fluency: High proficiency with sophisticated enterprise legal billing and financial software ecosystems (such as Aderant, Elite, SurePoint, or comparable tools) paired with advanced Microsoft Excel capability.
  • Leadership Caliber: Proven capability to manage, train, and elevate accounting professionals while effectively interfacing with equity partners and external auditors.
  • Geographic Proximity: Must be locally based and within a sustainable, daily driving commute of the Long Island, NY office to seamlessly support the hybrid schedule (3 days on-site, 2 days remote).
