Job Description

We are seeking an Application Programmer III to join our team. The role focuses on compliance execution and coordination across risk, security, and infrastructure, with strong emphasis on vulnerability remediation tracking and closure. The ideal candidate will have experience with Agile tools, governance reporting, and hands-on follow-through to drive remediation, patching, and risk reduction activities to completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete and track compliance deliverables to ensure applications meet policies, standards, and local laws, rules, and regulations.

  • Perform administrative and non-technical compliance tasks, including access reviews, assessments, questionnaires, and procedural documentation.

  • Coordinate and drive hands-on vulnerability remediation by partnering with platform, development, QA, and infrastructure teams to execute patching and corrective actions.

  • Assist with audit exams and risk assessments for supported applications and provide evidence and responses.

  • Track technical security and risk activities, including remediation of nonpermitted technology, vulnerability management, technical recovery planning, and disaster recovery exercises.

  • Maintain accurate application data in AppHQ and other systems of record.

  • Partner with vendors to ensure third-party applications comply with bank requirements and control expectations.

  • Respond to ad hoc inquiries regarding application status, risks, and compliance posture.

  • Interface with infrastructure teams for capacity and platform needs such as storage requests and middleware dependencies.

  • Contribute to governance artifacts and provide regular stakeholder updates on risk, mitigation, and delivery status.

  • Facilitate Agile or waterfall ceremonies, manage team-level risks, dependencies, and impediments, and ensure adherence to the solution delivery process.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Agile tools proficiency, especially Jira; experience with Kanban and weekly reporting cadence.

  • Hands-on coordination to drive vulnerability remediation and patching with platform/dev/QA and infra teams.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills: PowerPoint, Excel (pivots, macros), and Word for dashboards, KPI reporting, and automation.

  • Ability to integrate multiple data sources to produce accurate analysis and KPI reporting.

  • Solution Delivery Process knowledge and tool usage across the software lifecycle; understanding of roles and controls.

  • Governance and stakeholder management with timely, clear communication and updates to senior leaders and executives.

  • Analytical problem-solving with ability to apply prior solutions to similar problems and quantify risks and dependencies with control options.

  • Foundational software development understanding without hands-on coding; familiarity with architecture and bank standards.

  • Basic information security knowledge, including Unix and Windows OS concepts; familiarity with VA/PT results and log analysis.

  • Scripting capability for data handling and reporting (Excel macros, shell scripts).

  • Infrastructure background with Windows, Unix/Linux, and middleware awareness; understanding of technology operations and process improvement.

  • Strong organization, follow-up, time management, and prioritization; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Clear oral and written communication across all levels of the firm.

  • Experience guiding projects through all phases while ensuring standards, documentation, and tracking systems remain current.

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and weekly operational reporting; understanding of Agile methodology.

  • AI tools exposure such as Microsoft Copilot for productivity.

Preferred Skills:

  • CISA, CISSP, or CISM background; ITIL, RHEL familiarity.

  • Experience with business resiliency, risk management principles, technology change management, and audit preparation.

  • Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices; understanding of patch deployment and management processes.

  • Experience with ticketing systems such as Remedy or Nexus.

  • Bachelor's degree.
