OverviewGovCIO is currently hiring for a UAT Test Engineer to support the Readiness and Employment System (RES) contract within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This position will be a fully remote role.
ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, testing leadership, and stakeholder management skills. The UAT Engineer will own strategy development, scenario design, test execution coordination, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the UAT lifecycle. Designs, develops, and implements testing methods to ensure that the product will perform to specifications. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating the product. Designs test cases for test plans and create test scenarios in which tests are carried out. Compiles data, defines required changes and reports defects and problems that occurred during the test process. Implements and participates in the walkthrough of the product.
- Consults with the development and requirements team to coordinate and test applications.
- Liaise with project team and business stakeholders to ensure alignment of testing goals.
- Performs analysis, diagnostics and preliminary evaluations of products to develop testing procedures.
- Develops test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
- Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes.
- Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
- Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.
- Provide regular reporting through documentation, dashboards, test progress reports, and executive summaries.
- Conduct status meetings, risk reviews, and post-mortem/lessons learned sessions.
- Implement best practices and frameworks (e.g., Agile, DevOps) to streamline test cycles.
QualificationsRequired Skills and Experience - Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)
- 5 years of UAT experience
- Speaking/hosting to a group.
- Excellent skills with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Jira, Jira JQL, Confluence.
- Strong documenting skills.
Clearance Requirement: Suitability/Public Trust
- Candidates must be
- U.S. citizens
- Permanent residents that have resided continuously in the United States for a minimum of three (3) consecutive years immediately preceding their start date with GovCIO, as this uninterrupted residency is required to meet federal background investigation standards.
Preferred Skills and Experience - Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology and project lifecycle management.
- Extensive hands-on experience with JIRA or other test management tools.
