Summary

Join a dynamic engineering team supporting production machine learning pipelines that power inventory and workload insights for store operations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a cloud-native environment, strengthen pipeline reliability, and contribute to meaningful improvements in observability, monitoring, and performance.
Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain production ML pipelines that deliver inventory and workload insights
  • Monitor daily workflows and troubleshoot issues to help ensure reliability and SLA adherence
  • Improve the stability, performance, and observability of existing pipelines
  • Develop and enhance monitoring and alerting solutions using cloud-native tools and custom instrumentation
  • Work within a Google Cloud Platform and Vertex AI environment to support pipeline operations and improvements
  • Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and operations partners to resolve issues and implement enhancements
  • Contribute to code changes and operational improvements using GitHub workflows and team standards
Skills
  • Strong Python programming skills
  • Working knowledge of PySpark
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services, including Vertex AI, BigQuery, Kubeflow Pipelines, and Cloud Monitoring
  • Familiarity with ML workflow orchestration tools such as KFP, Airflow, or similar platforms
  • Experience monitoring and troubleshooting jobs in distributed cloud environments
  • Understanding of observability practices, including OTEL and custom metrics instrumentation
  • Experience working with GitHub workflows, including pull requests, branching, and code reviews
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with close attention to detail
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Preferred Skills
  • Experience balancing operational support with targeted development work
  • Background in improving production pipeline reliability and performance
  • Ability to proactively identify opportunities for process or system improvements
  • Comfort working in cross-functional environments with technical and operational partners
