Senior QA Engineer with experience testing Java Spring Boot web applications, Angular, Couchbase

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer (Senior QA) to support a Java Spring Boot based web application with an Angular front end. This role covers manual testing, automation testing, API testing, and performance/stress testing and requires an automation-first mindset.

The Senior Quality Engineer will act as the primary point of contact for Quality Engineering, owning test strategy, automation frameworks, QE deliverables, and mentoring team members while collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders.

• Maintain and promote an automation-first, contract-first testing approach

• Serve as the primary point of contact for the QE team and own all QA deliverables

• Define and implement test strategies aligned with business and technical requirements

• Enforce QA best practices, standards, and processes across the team

• Identify opportunities to replace manual testing with automation

• Design, develop, and customize test automation frameworks based on project needs

• Guide team members on automation tools, scripting standards, and best practices

• Drive in-sprint automation and hybrid testing frameworks

• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure Pipelines, and Git

• Lead execution of test cases covering happy path, edge cases, negative, and complex business scenarios

• Guide and execute REST and SOAP API testing using Postman, Swagger, and SOAP UI

• Train team members to write and execute complex SQL queries for backend data validation

• Validate NoSQL data in Couchbase, including document structure and RBAC security

• Establish and manage test plans, test cases, execution, and reporting

• Oversee the full defect lifecycle (logging, prioritization, retesting, closure, RCA, prevention)

• Generate and publish QA metrics, defect trends, and execution reports

• Coordinate defect triage across business, development, and QA teams

• Plan and execute load and stress testing using enterprise tools

• Manage and maintain physical, virtualized, and simulated test environments

• Analyze performance results and identify system bottlenecks

• Mentor QE team members on Agile and Scrum methodologies

• Lead internal QA meetings and client communications

• Participate in requirement reviews, system architecture discussions, and design walkthroughs

• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts

• 3+ years of experience with Java & Spring Boot, understanding backend architecture and integrations

• 3+ years of experience testing Angular applications (UI components, DOM interactions)

• 2+ years of experience with Couchbase (NoSQL validation, RBAC, SDK testing)

• 2+ years of experience with MS SQL Server and complex SQL queries

• 5+ years of experience in API testing (REST/SOAP)

• 5+ years of experience in automation testing using Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, or Playwright

• 5+ years of experience in manual testing (functional, exploratory, regression, performance)

• 5+ years of experience in performance and stress testing using JMeter, Dynatrace, Nexthink

• Strong experience creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test data

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

• Experience with mobile test automation

• Experience leading QA efforts in large-scale, enterprise systems

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

• Experience designing and implementing enterprise-level testing strategies and automation infrastructure
