Technical Senior Manager

Introduction:

The Technical Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of engineers and ensuring the successful delivery of technical projects. They will allocate their time between hands-on engineering tasks and leadership duties to meet project goals and maintain high client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Allocate approximately 70% of time to hands-on engineering tasks, such as developing new deployments, tooling, and automation scripts
• Dedicate around 30% of time to leadership duties, including mentoring junior engineers and managing escalations
• Act as the primary escalation contact for complex technical issues
• Monitor and uphold quality standards for engineering work
• Identify and mitigate risks in partnership with consulting and solutions architecture teams
• Coordinate day-to-day engineering activities

Requirements:

Essential Skills:

• Strong organizational abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
• Hands-on experience with Terraform
• Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Effective documentation skills

Experience:

• 7+ years of hands-on experience implementing or supporting cloud-based solutions
• Demonstrated success creating custom scripts, tools, or automation
• Previous involvement in resolving escalations or high-severity client issues
• Experience in a leadership or mentorship capacity
• Familiarity with orchestration and automation tools, DevOps, and CI/CD processes

Required Certifications:

• Professional/Expert level certifications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

Preferred Certifications/Skills (not required):

• Hands-on experience with regulatory frameworks like FedRAMP, DoD, HIPAA, or HITRUST
• Familiarity with industry-standard configuration baselines, such as CIS Benchmarks or DISA STIG
• Experience using Ansible, GitLab/GitHub for automation and orchestration
• Terraform Certifications
• Security level certifications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

Work Environment/Travel Required:

Standard office environment with 20% travel required.
