Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Hybrid

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Austin, TX that is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for a hybrid role.

Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to help make cost-driven infrastructure decisions, and execute migrations across Azure, AWS, and on-prem environments. This is a project-driven role. The primary objective is to reduce cloud spend quickly, determine the right long-term hosting strategy (Azure vs AWS vs on-prem), and execute migrations. This Engineer will operate in a fast-moving, lean environment with a strong emphasis on execution, ownership, and results.

Key Responsibilities:
* Analyze the existing Azure environment to identify cost drivers and inefficiencies
* Recommend and implement actions to reduce Azure spend quickly
* Evaluate workload placement to determine optimal hosting models (Azure, AWS, or on-prem)
* Participate in cloud strategy decisions based on cost, performance, and operational fit
* Execute infrastructure and workload migrations: Azure AWS; Azure on-prem (where appropriate)
* Support cleanup, re-platforming, and modernization efforts as part of migration activities
* Support or lead the migration of Citrix VDI environments to AWS WorkSpaces
* Collaborate across infrastructure, networking, and security to ensure smooth transitions
* Provision and manage cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS
* Work across: Compute; Networking; Security; Windows-based workloads
* Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues in under-documented environments

REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
* Strong hands-on experience with AWS
* Experience supporting Windows-based environments
* Ability to independently analyze, recommend, and execute solutions (not advisory-only)
* Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

Proven experience with:
* Cloud infrastructure provisioning
* Networking and security in cloud environments
* Cloud migrations or cloud implementations

Preferred/Nice-to-Have:
* Experience with AWS WorkSpaces
* Experience migrating Citrix AWS WorkSpaces
* Cloud cost analysis/optimization (FinOps-style experience)
* Hybrid or multi-environment migrations (cloudon-prem)

* Workloads are successfully migrated and stabilized

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
