Summary

Position: IP/Cable Operations Engineer
Type/Duration: Full time//Permanent
Location: New Albany, OH (5 Days onsite in a week)

Required Qualifications

  • Years in network operations, NOC or backbone/transport support
  • Hands-on IP troubleshooting: BGP, IS-IS/OSPF, MPLS, LAG/ECMP, interface errors and optics
  • Working knowledge of DWDM/optical transport: OSNR, optical power budgets, amplification, coherent optics (100G/400G/800G)
  • Experience with ticketing systems and SLA-driven incident management
  • Comfortable with alarm and monitoring tools and reading device CLIs (e.g., Juniper, Arista, Cisco; Ciena, Infinera, Nokia optical)
  • Strong written communication for ticket updates and vendor escalations
  • Able to work shifts, weekends and on-call

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CCNP/JNCIP or vendor optical certs (Ciena, Infinera)
  • Experience with subsea or long-haul fiber operations and OSP restoration
  • Scripting or automation (Python, SQL) for triage or reporting
