Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Desktop & Mobile Support Technician (Tier 1) in San Antonio, TX (Onsite) for a Long term Contract position. The schedule is Day Shift - 40 hours/week.

About the Opportunity
Kforce has a client in San Antonio, TX seeking Desktop & Mobile Support Technicians to join their End User Operations team. This onsite role supports day-to-day IT operations by providing Tier 1 (intermediate level) desktop and laptop support to internal users. The ideal candidate brings strong technical fundamentals, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic enterprise environment.

Responsibilities:
* Provide Tier 1 desktop and laptop support for end users
* Unpack, configure, image, and deploy new desktop and laptop hardware
* Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and software
* Support peripherals such as monitors, docking stations, printers, projectors, and display equipment
* Perform equipment moves, adds, and changes (MACs)
* Provide end-user guidance and basic training on supported devices and applications
* Fully document issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system
* Follow established support procedures while identifying opportunities for improvement
* Research and implement solutions for new or recurring technical issues
* Maintain technical knowledge through self-study and hands-on troubleshooting
* Participate in rotating work schedules to ensure adequate end-user support coverage
* Travel locally as needed to support users and equipment

REQUIREMENTS:
* Associate's degree in IT, Computer Maintenance, Network Administration, or a related field or equivalent hands-on IT support experience
* Experience supporting end-user computing environments (desktops, laptops, peripherals)
* Experience with installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of PCs and hardware

Working knowledge of:
* Windows operating systems
* Active Directory fundamentals
* PC networking concepts and terminology
* Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
* Printers, monitors, and AV/display equipment

* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to work independently and make sound support decisions
* Comfort adapting to changing technologies, processes, and business needs
* Ability to distinguish colors for identifying electronic components and wiring
* Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally

Preferred Qualifications:
* Industry-recognized IT certifications
* Experience supporting environments related to utilities, construction, or maintenance operations
