This includes structured cabling, low-voltage installation, fiber work, cable pulling, or commercial/data center cabling.
This is not an entry-level role.
Location: Leesburg, Ashburn, Sterling, Manassas, VA
Shifts: Must be able to work day shift, night shift, weekends, and rotate between any location (non-negotiable)

About the Role

We are hiring Data Center Cabling Technicians to support large-scale projects throughout Northern Virginia. This role focuses on structured cabling, fiber trunk installation, rack and stack work, and pathway management inside active and post-construction data center environments.
Because this work is fast-paced and standards-driven, candidates must already have hands-on cabling experience. The contract-to-hire model offers long-term potential based on performance, reliability, and project demand.

Primary Responsibilities

Read cable maps and labels
Interpret cable maps, labeling systems, and documentation to ensure accurate routing and installation.
Rack and stack data center equipment
Install and secure switches, servers, power equipment, and related hardware following data center standards.
Fiber trunk and patch cord installation
Pull, route, and stage high-count fiber trunks (144-count and 288-count). Install and organize fiber patch cords for connectivity across the facility.
Cable dressing and pathway management
Dress, route, and secure cabling through basket tray, fiber runner, and other structured pathways while maintaining clean, organized layouts.

Required Skills and Experience

  • At least one year of professional cabling experience is required
  • Experience installing, routing, or terminating structured cabling or fiber
  • Ability to follow labeling standards, documentation, and cable routing pathways
  • Familiarity with data center or telecom environments
  • Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and move between multiple NOVA jobsites

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with high-count fiber trunks
  • Previous data center ISP experience
  • Cat5/6 installation experience
  • Rack and stack experience
  • Background working in large data center environments

Work Environment

Work takes place inside active and post-construction data centers. Technicians must be comfortable standing for long periods, pulling cable, working around other trades, and traveling between job locations across Northern Virginia.

A new project has launched in addition to current workloads, creating a need for more cabling technicians to support multiple data center sites.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
