Data Center Cabling TechnicianTEKsystemsDescriptionTEKsystems is seeking a
Data Center Cabling Technician to support structured cabling and fiber installations in a data center or commercial environment. This technician will be responsible for fiber routing, rack-and-stack work, and maintaining clean, organized, and standards-compliant cabling infrastructure. The ideal candidate is flexible with scheduling and has strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities- Interpret cable maps, labeling systems, and technical documentation to ensure accurate routing and installation.
- Perform rack and stack of network and server equipment within racks and cabinets in accordance with site and industry standards.
- Pull, route, and stage fiber trunks, including high-count fiber (144-count and 288-count bundles).
- Install and manage fiber patch cords to support network connectivity.
- Dress and secure cabling to match designated pathway types such as basket tray or fiber runner systems.
- Maintain clean, organized, and standards-compliant cable installations.
- Follow safety guidelines and quality standards at all times.
Required Qualifications- Minimum 6 months of experience in data center or commercial cabling environments.
- Experience with structured cabling and fiber installation.
- Ability to read and follow technical documentation and labeling standards.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work day or night shifts as required.
- Availability to work any day of the week, including weekends.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications- Prior experience working in data center or telecommunications environments.
- Familiarity with industry cabling standards and best practices.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Sterling, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
