RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Houston, TX that is seeking a Senior IT Systems Analyst
Overview:
The Senior IT Systems Analyst will provide functional and limited technical support for enterprise financial and project management applications supporting Oracle modules such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cash management, fixed assets, expenses, suppliers, and project costing, billing, and accounting. Previous experience in a production support or application support role is required.
This role requires strong customer-facing skills, comfort navigating operational system challenges, and the ability to clearly articulate findings and recommendations. The ideal candidate can quickly understand business and system issues, identify root causes, and distinguish between standard functionality and custom enhancements.
A strong analytical and investigative mindset is essential, with the ability to use data to validate hypotheses and assess issue impact. Responsibilities include creating ad hoc reports to support analysis, troubleshooting complex issues, and recommending workarounds or long-term corrective actions to resolve system impediments.
The analyst will leverage diagnostic tools, SQL, and other query-based methods to analyze and extract data, identify integrity or constraint issues, and develop corrective scripts to resolve data inconsistencies. The role also includes participation in conference room pilots, user acceptance testing for fixes and enhancements, and ensuring all acceptance criteria are met.
Additional responsibilities include completing required change management documentation, adhering to applicable internal controls and compliance requirements, and applying established project management principles, tools, and best practices throughout the lifecycle of initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS:
* A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or a related field is required, or equivalent professional experience (approximately five years) in a comparable industry role
* Candidates should have 5-7 years of experience supporting Oracle-based enterprise applications, with a preference for hands-on work across Oracle financial and project-oriented modules; A solid understanding of financial data flows-including interactions between subledgers and the general ledger-is required
* At least three years of experience using SQL and procedural database programming languages within Oracle systems is required; Familiarity with Oracle application data models and system architecture, particularly in finance and project accounting domains, is expected
* The role requires the ability to review and interpret application logic and configurations within Oracle environments, including workflow components, reporting tools, and low-code development frameworks, to assess current system behavior and identify areas for improvement
* Experience developing or extending solutions using Oracle low-code platforms is preferred; The ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-developer, team-based environment is important, along with exposure to Agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
* Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to clearly explain Oracle application behavior, system impacts, and current- versus future-state considerations in business-friendly terms
* This position requires a strong customer-success mindset and direct ownership of user outcomes; Candidates whose experience is limited to purely technical execution without active engagement with end users or business partners are not a fit for this role
