SAP DATA Migration Program/Project Manager

Description :
We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Migration Program/Project Manager to lead and manage end-to-end SAP data migration initiatives for SAP S/4HANA implementations, ECC upgrades, carve-outs, mergers, acquisitions, and global transformation programs. The role involves planning, governance, execution, and delivery of large-scale data migration projects while ensuring data quality, compliance, business continuity, and successful cutover execution.
The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, SAP functional teams, data architects, ETL developers, testing teams, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless migration of master data, transactional data, and historical data into SAP systems.
Key Responsibilities (KRAs)
- SAP Data Migration Strategy & Planning
- Define overall SAP data migration strategy, roadmap, governance, and execution approach.
- Lead migration planning for SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA transformations.
- Define migration scope, waves, timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
- Establish data migration frameworks, standards, templates, and methodologies.
- End-to-End Data Migration Delivery
- Manage full lifecycle of SAP data migration projects including:
- Data discovery
- Data profiling
- Cleansing
- Mapping
- Transformation
- Validation
- Mock loads
- Cutover
- Hypercare support
- Ensure successful migration of:
- Master Data
- Transactional Data
- Historical/Legacy Data
- Coordinate multiple migration cycles and rehearsal loads.
- Stakeholder & Business Coordination
- Collaborate with business users, data owners, SAP functional consultants, and leadership teams.
- Conduct workshops for data mapping, validation, and sign-offs.
- Manage communication between business and technical teams.
- Present migration progress, risks, and readiness status to steering committees.
- Data Governance & Quality Management
- Ensure data quality, integrity, consistency, and compliance throughout migration activities.
- Establish data governance processes and ownership models.
- Define KPIs for data accuracy, completeness, reconciliation, and defect resolution.
- Drive data cleansing and enrichment initiatives.
- Migration Tools & Technical Oversight
- Oversee usage of SAP migration tools such as:
- SAP Migration Cockpit
- SAP Data Services (BODS)
- LSMW
- SAP MDG
- Syniti
- Informatica
- ETL/Data Integration tools
- Coordinate with technical teams for extraction, transformation, and loading activities.
- Ensure integration alignment with middleware and non-SAP systems.
- Cutover & Go-Live Management
- Lead data cutover planning and execution activities.
- Manage downtime windows, sequencing, fallback plans, and reconciliation activities.
- Ensure successful mock cutovers and production go-live readiness.
- Support hypercare and post-go-live stabilization.
- Risk, Issue & Compliance Management
- Identify migration risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
- Manage issue resolution and escalation processes.
- Ensure compliance with audit, regulatory, and security standards.
- Maintain complete migration documentation and governance reports.
- Team & Vendor Management
- Lead cross-functional migration teams across onsite/offshore models.
- Coordinate with implementation partners, vendors, and third-party consultants.
- Manage resource planning, utilization, and delivery performance.
- Mentor migration leads, analysts, and developers.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in SAP Data Migration methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration programs.
- Deep understanding of SAP master and transactional data structures.
- Knowledge of ETL concepts, data mapping, and reconciliation.
- Strong experience in cutover and go-live planning.
- Excellent stakeholder and program governance skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Experience managing global delivery teams.
