Java Developer

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Contract

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Role Overview

This is a hands-on application developer role focused on delivering technical solutions for a firm-wide product and pricing reference data environment. The position involves managing all phases of the software development lifecycle, from analyzing requirements to post-production support. You will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of business-critical components while working with global technical and business partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business or technical requirements and design solutions to develop critical components.
• Engage in hands-on application design, development, and delivery.
• Provide post-production support for developed applications.
• Enhance the existing application stack and act as an application manager for key reference data applications.
• Work closely with technical and business partners across the globe.
• Deliver technical solutions by managing all phases of the software development life cycle.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Core Java
• Oracle SQL / PLSQL
• Python
• J2EE
• Hibernate

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in writing optimized SQL queries.
• A good understanding of unit testing concepts.
• A strong understanding of software build and release management processes.
• Familiarity with common development patterns.
• Proven experience in building scalable and robust applications.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay rate for this contract position is between $63.00 and $68.26 per hour. A benefits package may be available to eligible employees.
