Role Overview
This position is responsible for the preparation of financial and operating budget reports at the site level. The role involves assisting with day-to-day accounting activities, including preparing journal entries, ensuring proper consolidation of project entities, confirming SOX compliance, and supporting forecasting activities. The analyst will also administer and interpret accounting policies applicable to the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture trades into the SOX Application and execute end-of-day recaps and reports.
- Verify positions and monitor daily Value at Risk and other risk-related measures.
- Reconcile broker and other external statements associated with transactions.
- Provide management with daily Profit and Loss and pricing information.
- Handle Electronic Funds Sources and other clearing transactions.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to support special projects.
- Assist with process design and modification for continuous business improvement.
- Support the development and execution of the trade capture platform in collaboration with the IT team.
- Develop ad-hoc reports using SQL and Power BI.
- Create and automate Excel-based ad-hoc reports using macros as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
Experience: 0 - 5 years of experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and accounting policy interpretation at a plant or site level.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, ACCESS, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes is required. Familiarity with SAP/FMIP/Passport and general financial reporting processes is also necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- A CPA or Master's Degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience with SQL and Power BI for ad-hoc report development.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $25.00 and $28.95 per hour.
