Role Overview
This role is responsible for performing engineering assignments that range from limited scope to more advanced projects. The position involves working with increasing independence based on experience, focusing on utility-scale solar, BESS, and power plant operations. The engineer will assist with project management, provide technical analysis, and ensure engineering designs meet project specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform engineering assignments under varying levels of supervision.
- Assist with project management, negotiations, performance tracking, and reporting.
- Engage in technical analysis, project coordination, and engineering oversight.
- Ensure designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and performance goals.
- Provide interpretations and conclusions from data and develop technical documentation.
- Prepare job cost estimates, pole bore details, and other documents for construction projects.
- Own the onboarding process for new sites, including technical and administrative tasks.
- Promote a safe and inclusive work environment.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
Experience: 0 to 5 years of experience in engineering studies and analysis, applying engineering-related disciplines to solve assignments of moderate difficulty.
Technical Skills: The role may require specialized knowledge in one of the following areas:
Electrical/I&C Engineering: Electric distribution systems, power systems, ladder logic, and computational tools (e.g., ETAP, EDISON).
Mechanical Engineering: Pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and pipe stress analysis (ASME standards).
Civil/Structural Engineering: Design of foundations, site grading, drainage systems, seismic qualification, and pipe supports (e.g., GT Strudel).
MOV Valve Engineering: Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and valve program management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of renewables technology.
- Knowledge of controls and/or alarm management.
- Understanding of Quality methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $30.00 and $38.00 per hour. Contract assignments are eligible for worker furlough, which may coincide with select national holidays.

This position requires NERC CIP unescorted physical and cyber access.
