IT Operations Manager

Description

We are looking for a skilled IT Operations Manager to join our team in West Columbia, South Carolina, as part of a long-term contract. In this dynamic role, you will oversee critical IT operations, contribute to infrastructure development, and play a key part in shaping the future of our growing financial services organization. Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain VMware environments and custom applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Lead day-to-day IT operations, including overseeing system administration, network management, and team collaboration.

Coordinate and execute on-premises to cloud migration projects, specifically utilizing Azure and Hyper-V technologies.

Provide hands-on leadership to a small IT team, including mentorship and guidance to support staff.

Ensure 24/7 system availability by participating in an on-call rotation and promptly addressing high-priority issues.

Collaborate with external partners to manage Oracle-based record-keeping systems and other third-party applications.

Facilitate onboarding processes for new employees, ensuring seamless integration into IT systems.

Travel occasionally (up to 10%) to support IT needs across multiple locations, with most tasks managed remotely.

Contribute to the strategic planning of IT infrastructure and support the organization's expansion efforts.

Optimize the use of Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Azure SQL Database, and Intune, to streamline operations.

Requirements

Previous experience as in IT Operations Management - ideally 5 years or more

Proven experience in VMware, Azure, and Hyper-V environments.

Proficiency in managing Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Windows Server, Azure Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange.

Familiarity with Citrix technologies and Intune for enterprise-level IT management.

Strong understanding of Oracle systems and the ability to collaborate with external service providers.

Demonstrated leadership or team lead experience within IT operations.

Capacity to work onsite five days a week and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex IT projects, including cloud migrations.

Effective communication and team collaboration skills to drive success in a growing organization.
