Description
We are seeking a Middleware Platform Engineer responsible for designing, building, and automating lean, secure middleware container images and deployment frameworks for enterprise application platforms. This role will focus on creating Red Hat JBoss Web Services and Red Hat JBoss Core Services container images using Packer, based on enterprise-provided RHEL base images, and enabling application deployments through Helm charts integrated with an enterprise Terraform (IaC) platform. The ideal candidate has deep experience in Linux-based middleware, container platforms, and infrastructure automation, and can work closely with security, platform, and application teams to deliver standardized, repeatable, and compliant deployment patterns. JBoss Core Services Proven experience building immutable images using Packer Advanced knowledge of containerization (Docker/OCI images) Strong Kubernetes experience, preferably Red Hat OpenShift Automation IaC Proficiency with Helm for Kubernetes application packaging Strong experience with Terraform in enterprise IaC platforms Experience integrating Helm and Terraform workflows Scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and tooling DevOps Platform Engineering Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Git-based workflows, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar) Understanding of container security, image scanning, and compliance controls Familiarity with enterprise logging and monitoring solutions Architecture Design Ability to design scalable, reusable middleware platforms Strong understanding of microservices and service-oriented architectures Experience designing deployment patterns that support high availability and resiliency Preferred Qualifications Experience in regulated or large-scale enterprise environments Knowledge of OpenShift Operators and Kubernetes controllers Familiarity with service meshes and ingress technologies Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, or JBoss-related certifications) Experience supporting multi-tenant Kubernetes platforms Key Attributes Strong engineering discipline with attention to security and reliability Ability to translate enterprise standards into reusable technical solutions Excellent documentation and communication skills Collaborative mindset with a platform-as-a-product approach

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.23 - $70.23/hr.
