SAP FICO ( AA - Asset Accounting PS - Project System)

We are seeking a seasoned SAP S/4HANA Conversion expert to lead and execute brownfield (system conversion) initiatives with a deep functional focus on SAP FICO, Asset Accounting (AA) and Project System (PS). The ideal candidate will own readiness, design, impact assessments, conversion execution, data reconciliation, and cutover for AA and PS while collaborating across FICO, P2P, BW and technical teams to ensure a compliant, low-risk transition to S/4HANA.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end S/4HANA conversion for Finance with emphasis on AA and PS, following SAP Activate methodology.
• Conduct and interpret SAP Readiness Check and Simplification Item Checks; create and drive remediation plans for AA/PS impacts.
• Own solution design decisions for New Asset Accounting, ledger/accounting principal setup, depreciation areas, and AA process changes in S/4HANA.
• Coordinate CVI/BP readiness (customer/vendor to Business Partner) and Universal Journal implications for AA/PS.
• Lead data cleansing, harmonization, and reconciliation for AA and PS (e.g., chart of depreciation alignment, closed periods, open items, project settlements).
• Execute and validate migration steps for New Asset Accounting and PS, including pre-checks, and post-conversion consistency checks.
• Configure and validate AA processes: asset master governance, capitalization, AUC management, depreciation runs, periodic postings, and closing.
• Configure and validate PS processes: WBS, procurement integration, settlement to Assets, and period-end closing.
• Drive testing strategy (unit, SIT, UAT) and cutover/conversion plan.
• Collaborate with FICO, P2P, BW and technical teams to ensure end-to-end process integrity and performance after conversion.
• Produce high-quality documentation: conversion playbooks, configuration docs, test scripts, and training materials.
• Advise on governance, controls, and audit considerations tied to AA and PS in S/4HANA.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 8+ years of hands-on SAP Finance experience with strong functional depth in AA and PS.
• 3+ full-cycle SAP programs including at least 2 S/4HANA brownfield conversions (on-prem or RISE) with AA/PS scope.
• Demonstrated expertise in New Asset Accounting (S/4HANA) including:
• Accounting principle/ledger framework, depreciation areas mapping, fiscal year/period close readiness
• AUC processes, investment measures, asset under construction settlement, and final capitalization
• Periodic postings, depreciation runs, and integration with Universal Journal
• Experiencing in implementing China (PRC GAAP/tax) and Japan (JGAAP/tax) local depreciation in SAP S/4HANA New Asset Accounting, including statutory and tax books is a Plus
• Demonstrated expertise in Project System including:
• WBS design, procurement integration
• month-end close, and settlement to assets
• Proven experience with S/4 conversion tools and activities:
• SAP Readiness Check, Simplification Item Checks
• SUM/DMO planning, data reconciliation strategies
• Strong integration knowledge across FI, CO, MM, IM, and Central Finance considerations.
• Hands-on test and cutover leadership: designing test cycles, conversion mock testing, defect management, and hyper-care.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with the ability to lead workshops and drive decision-making.

Preferred location is NJ but remote candidates are fine as long as they can support EST timings.
