Summary

A leading digital product studio is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join its growing engineering team in Holmdel, NJ. This full-time, onsite position will focus on building and scaling cloud-native infrastructure that powers mobile applications used by professional sports teams and live event venues. The organization leverages a modern, serverless AWS ecosystem including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, CDK, CloudFormation, IAM, and Cognito to deliver high-performance fan engagement experiences at scale.

This is a unique opportunity to become one of the organization's most senior infrastructure leaders and only the second engineer at this level focused exclusively on DevOps and platform engineering. The ideal candidate will be able to step into a highly visible role, take ownership of cloud architecture decisions, and help drive the next stage of scale and reliability. The team values strong communication skills and collaborative personalities, seeking individuals who are not only technically exceptional but who thrive in a close-knit, high-performing environment. Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering experience
Deep expertise with AWS cloud services
Production experience with:
- AWS Lambda
- API Gateway
- DynamoDB
- Amazon RDS
- IAM
- Cognito
- CloudFormation
- AWS CDK
Strong Python development and automation skills
Experience designing and supporting highly available, low-latency, high-traffic systems
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise
Experience implementing monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational best practices
Strong troubleshooting and systems architecture skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to work independently and take ownership with minimal oversight

Desired Skills & Experience

Experience with serverless-first architectures
CI/CD pipeline design and automation experience
Experience optimizing cloud cost and performance
Knowledge of containerization technologies and orchestration platforms
Security and compliance best practice experience within AWS
Experience supporting customer-facing applications with significant traffic volumes
Prior experience within sports, entertainment, ticketing, media, or event technology environments
Leadership, mentoring, or technical ownership experience

40% Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure

15% Infrastructure automation using Python and Infrastructure as Code
10% Partner with software engineering teams on cloud architecture initiatives
10% Monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and operational excellence
