Location: 100% Remote within US

Overview

Our client is undertaking a strategic evaluation of its unified communications environment, transitioning from a 30-year Cisco on-premises infrastructure toward a UCaaS model, with Microsoft Teams as the leading candidate solution. Our client is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to lead the discovery and requirements phase of this initiative — engaging both business and IT stakeholders to assess current-state capabilities, define future-state requirements, and produce the documentation needed to select and engage a System Integrator (SI).

This is a discovery and gap analysis engagement at its core: understanding where the organization is today, where they need to go, and building the roadmap and SOW to get there.

Key Responsibilities

• Bridge legacy telephony knowledge with modern UCaaS architecture to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements
• Conduct stakeholder interviews across business and IT teams to gather requirements and understand current-state Cisco on-prem environment and business impact of a UCaaS transition
• Perform gap analysis between existing Cisco infrastructure and target UCaaS capabilities (Teams and other relevant solutions)
• Develop functional and technical specifications and supporting technical documentation
• Author a Statement of Work (SOW) to be used in selecting and engaging a System Integrator
• Support evaluation and selection of the System Integrator

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong working knowledge of legacy on-premises telephony environments (Cisco Collaboration/CUCM or comparable)
• Demonstrated experience with UCaaS platforms and migrations — Microsoft Teams strongly preferred, but broader UCaaS experience (e.g., RingCentral, Zoom Phone, Webex Calling) is valuable and not limited to Teams alone
• Proven ability to operate independently in a discovery/requirements gathering capacity with minimal structural guardrails
• Strong technical writing skills — comfortable producing functional/technical specs and SOW-level documentation
• Experience facilitating cross-functional stakeholder conversations (business + IT) and translating between the two
• Comfortable working in a lean-hours, fully remote, PM-supported structure
