Summary

Job Title: Mental health system  Clinical Case Manager (Psychotherapist)

Duty Location: Embedded within various NCNG armories and Reserve Component Family Assistance Centers across NC (Subject to approx. 25% travel)

Position Overview

Clinical Case Managers deliver outpatient psychotherapist services, psychological triage, and trauma-focused evidence-based treatments directly to eligible military components and their families. Operating in an embedded environment, they handle both standard clinical appointments and rapid crisis intervention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Clinical Therapy: Provide licensed psychotherapy, bio-psychosocial assessments, diagnoses, and outpatient treatment planning for clients with behavioral health disorders.
  • Trauma-Informed EBT: Administer specific Evidence-Based Treatments (EBT) for trauma, including but not limited to Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.
  • Crisis Intervention: Action telephonic and in-person crisis response operations, including mandatory integration into the 24/7/365 toll-free helpline rotation.
  • Clinical Reporting: Draft and submit structured clinical analysis reports—including formulations, progress notes, and evaluations—to the COR on a quarterly basis to track behavioral trends.
  • Command Consultation & Briefings: Conduct Psycho-Education Briefings (Yellow Ribbon events, Unit Briefings, Orientations) and provide Critical Incident Debriefings. Advise military Command elements on clinical treatment recommendations and resources upon request.
  • Outreach & Mentorship: Perform monthly site visits to armories to build trust and market IMHS services. Transition clients properly to external networks when necessary and participate in peer mentorship loads (1:1 ratio) for incoming contract staff.

Job Requirements

  • Licensure: Valid North Carolina state license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT at the independent provider level. Continuous verification of renewal is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience in behavioral health, covering individual, couple, family, mental health, and domestic/workplace violence counseling services, psychopathology, and psychosocial dynamics.
  • Special Certification: Current certification or licensure in evidence-based treatment for psychological trauma is mandatory.
  • Insurance: Must maintain continuous active professional liability insurance coverage.
