Job Title: Mental Health System Director

Duty Location: Raleigh, NC 27607 (with limited travel)

Duration: 12+ Months

 

Position Overview

The Mental health system Director provides top-level administrative execution, program development, and strategic leadership across multiple sites. This role focuses on optimizing crisis interventions, monitoring system metrics, providing technical guidance to clinical/non-clinical staff, and serving as the primary behavioral health expert at high-level military and public health councils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Leadership: Oversee key functions including crisis intervention optimization, case management recording system currency, hotline scheduling, and medical outreach consent tracking.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Ensure clinical and non-clinical case managers coordinate holistic care plans across varying client issues. Schedule clinical deployments to support military redeployment operations.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Evaluate system-wide behavioral health trends; compile and submit annual Case Management Data Reports and annual Program Services Evaluation Reports to the COR. Review quarterly program usage and satisfaction metrics.
  • Event & Protocol Direction: Coordinate IMHS coverage at events such as Yellow Ribbon, Commander courses, Family Programs, and Military Funeral Honors training. Provide standard clinical protocols and technical guidance to the case management team.
  • External Representation: Serve as the IMHS expert at high-level NCNG Battle Rhythm events (e.g., Commander''s Ready and Resilience Council) and external public works groups (e.g., Governor''s Working Group, SAMHSA, VA Mental Health Summits, Duke/UNC research bodies).

Job Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in social work or counseling.
  • Licensure: Valid North Carolina state license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT at the independent provider level (LMHC is considered an LPC equivalent).
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of full-time, post-licensure behavioral health experience; 5 years within a military or public safety setting is preferred.
  • Management Experience: Proven track record in supervisory roles, program development, or program implementation directly related to mental health services across multiple sites.
  • Insurance: Active and current professional liability insurance must be maintained.
