Summary

Job Title: Mental health system Coordinator

Duty Location: State-wide North Carolina (Variable locations/telehealth operations)

Duration: 12+ Months

Position Overview

The IMHS Coordinator executes essential program management, technical scheduling, tracking, and inter-agency coordination. This role ensures that both the internal team operations and external supportive networks function seamlessly to deliver care when and where members need it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Operations: Manage scheduling for the case management team, track on-call availability, maintain consent archives, and generate team travel authorization requests at least 14 days in advance. Co-manage system and database updates alongside the G6 coordination branch.
  • Program Alignment: Meet monthly with the Director to review program utilization trends and formulate proactive messaging strategies for service members.
  • Deployment Cycle Support: Plan and implement coordination strategies to support the NCNG Yellow Ribbon Program across all phases of the deployment cycle (pre-, during, and post-deployment).
  • Network & Agency Development: Build, maintain, and implement a structured network of agencies and resource organizations outside of the VA system to provide rehabilitative, educational, vocational, and crisis counseling services to veterans and their significant others.
  • Inter-Agency Liaison: Promote and sustain close working relationships with key NCNG programs (Sexual Assault Prevention, Suicide Prevention, Casualty Operations, Survivor Outreach Services, Soldier Resiliency, and State Family Programs).
  • Record & Medical System Tracking: Ensure all service member medical records comply with American Psychological Association Patient Administration Functions. Utilize registries and health information exchanges to guarantee care is delivered in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.
  • Data Compilation: Consolidate program utilization figures, critical case summaries, and case management statistics into monthly, quarterly, and annual update files for the Director to submit to the COR.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a behavioral health or social science field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of post-graduate experience in behavioral health program management is preferred.
  • Military Navigation: Minimum of 1 year of post-graduate experience working directly with community resource agencies and military personnel is preferred
