Position: Program Manager - Translation & Program Execution
Location: Remote
Project Duration: 6 months
Rate: Negotiable Bases on Experience
JOB DESCRIPTION
We're looking for a hands-on Program Manager to drive execution across a complex, cross-functional product environment, with a strong focus on translation and localization readiness.
This is not a traditional coordination role.
This role is about owning execution end-to-end, eliminating bottlenecks, and driving outcomes across multiple teams.
You will be responsible for ensuring that translation deliverables-from application content to user-facing artifacts-are fully integrated, validated, and ready for release, while also supporting broader program execution across a high-impact product program.
What You'll Do
Own Translation & Localization Execution (PCO Readiness)
Own the end-to-end flow across:
Content readiness development (strings/artifacts) translation review defect closure
Ensure all deliverables are fully translated, validated, and defect-free at release readiness
Drive alignment across Engineering, UX, Localization, Regulatory, and external vendors
Identify and remove bottlenecks caused by handoffs, misaligned timelines, and rework loops
Define and enforce execution discipline:
"Ready for translation" criteria
Structured handoffs and clear ownership
Manage evolving changes via controlled updates (not full-cycle rework)
Own the loop from translation issues fixes validation readiness
Drive Program Execution Across Workstreams
Support execution across key program areas as needed
Drive:
Milestone tracking and delivery alignment
Cross-functional coordination
Dependency management
Identify, track, and mitigate risks and issues
Contribute to program-level reporting and leadership updates
Step in to own and stabilize execution where ownership or coordination gaps exist
Tools & Operating Environment
You will operate in a data-driven execution environment, leveraging tools such as:
Jira - for managing work tracking, dependencies, and workflow visibility
Confluence - for documentation, process definition, and knowledge management
Smartsheet - for program tracking, cross-functional alignment, and reporting
You should be comfortable setting up structure in these tools-not just consuming reports
Experience creating clarity and visibility across messy, multi-team workflows is critical
What We're Looking For
Must Have
7-10+ years in program/project management in complex, cross-functional environments
Proven ability to drive execution across multiple teams with heavy dependencies
Strong track record of delivering outcomes-not just tracking status
Experience working with engineering, content, and/or documentation workflows
Strong working proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheet
Ability to influence teams and drive alignment without direct authority
Nice to Have
Experience in localization, translation workflows, or global product delivery
Background in regulated industries (medical device, healthcare, pharma)
Familiarity with:
Mobile / cloud software development
Vendor-based execution models
Agile / SAFe environments
What Success Looks Like
Translation and localization execution becomes predictable, stable, and aligned to release timelines
Significant reduction in delays caused by handoffs and misaligned execution cycles
Clear, real-time visibility into work in progress, risks, and readiness
Stronger execution and coordination across program workstreams
This Role Is NOT For You If...
You focus primarily on status updates instead of driving execution
You rely on meetings and coordination alone to solve problems
You prefer clearly defined boundaries vs stepping in to solve complex issues
