Controls Engineer | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $77,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Walker seeking Controls Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test control systems for manufacturing processes.
  • Program PLCs, HMIs, and industrial robots for automated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and software issues in production machinery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product introductions and process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics, control narratives, and other technical documentation.
  • Implement and optimize vision systems and other sensor technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Rockwell, etc.) and HMI/SCADA development.
  • Strong understanding of industrial control systems, robotics, and automation principles.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP, etc.).
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues in a manufacturing environment.
