Summary

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior System Safety Engineer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for leading safety analyses, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting the development of safe and reliable systems across various projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential safety hazards and implement mitigation strategies to ensure the safety of our products and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead system safety assessments including hazard analyses (e.g., FTA, FMEA, HAZOP) throughout the product lifecycle.

Develop and review safety requirements and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 26262, DO-178C, IEC 61508, or relevant standards.

Support design reviews and safety verifications to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.

Collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate safety principles into system design and development.

Conduct safety case development and support certification activities.

Provide safety training and mentorship to junior team members.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.

Prepare technical reports, safety cases, and documentation for internal and external audits.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in system safety engineering, preferably within aerospace, automotive, defense, or related industries.

Strong knowledge of safety standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, DO-178C, or similar.

Experience with hazard analysis tools and techniques (FMEA, FTA, HAZOP).

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Relevant safety certifications (e.g., CSEP, SSES) are a plus.
