Role Overview
This position is for an experienced Electrical Network and Digital Connectivity System Product Support Engineer. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network systems and digital connectivity solutions for aerospace projects. The ideal candidate will work independently, possess a proficient understanding of network and software systems, and be able to translate technical requirements into specific architectural and operational specifications for integration into airplanes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and document moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
- Design hardware, software, and interface specifications.
- Coordinate with suppliers on the development of hardware, software, and interface specifications.
- Test and validate system designs to ensure they meet operational and functional requirements.
- Assist in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance.
- Solve problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
- Participate as a contributing member in airplane installation designs and certification efforts.
- Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to develop architecture mapping.
- Develop and execute detailed, integrated test procedures and plans.
- Create software scripts to support or automate testing procedures and analysis.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Linux/UNIX Operating Systems.
- Knowledge of network, hardware, and software systems and technical architecture.
- Experience in systems engineering involving system requirements, functional decomposition, integrated design, analysis, and verification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of FAA certification.
- Experience with system design and integration during an airplane development program.
- Experience working and communicating with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Experience with Model-Based Development tools.
- Experience in computer networking systems, with an ability to troubleshoot and debug issues in aerospace software and hardware environments.
- Ability to read software logs and code.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position in Everett, WA. The work schedule is a first shift, with flexible start times between 6 AM and 8 AM for an 8-hour day. This position requires that the candidate be a U.S. Person for purposes of Export Compliance. Less than 10% domestic travel may be required.
