Position Overview
The Communication & Documentation Specialist plays a multifaceted role supporting internal communications and technical documentation efforts for a data analytics and technology team. This individual will partner closely with product, analytics, and internal stakeholders to translate technical concepts into clear, engaging, and user-focused content.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation and end-user guides for internal software applications and analytics dashboards
- Update and manage existing knowledge base articles in preparation for application enhancements and version releases
- Develop engaging PowerPoint presentations and video content to showcase new tools, features, and business value for diverse audiences
- Research and synthesize user feedback to continuously improve documentation and communication effectiveness
- Draft clear, concise emails and newsletters to communicate technical updates, changes, and announcements
- Support SharePoint site maintenance and content development, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clarity
- Translate technical concepts into succinct executive-level one-pagers and summaries
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in technical writing, user documentation, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience creating clear, compelling written communication
- Strong command of grammar and writing standards (APA and MLA)
- Familiarity with data analytics concepts, Power BI, and application development
- Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on PowerPoint and SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Journalism, or a related discipline
- Familiarity with UX/UI principles and user-centered design
- Experience with video editing tools such as Camtasia, Adobe Premiere Pro, or After Effects
