Global Category Director - Permanent - San Antonio, TX - $200,000 - $220,000.

The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Global Category Director in San Antonio, TX.

Role Description

We are seeking a Global Category Director to lead strategic sourcing initiatives across a key spend category within a manufacturing company. Reporting directly to the VP of Global Supply Chain, this role owns the full strategic sourcing cycle - from spend analysis and market research to complex negotiations and contract oversight.
The position requires strong analytical capability and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders. You will lead global category reviews, partner closely with Engineering and R&D on cost reduction initiatives and ensure business continuity through structured supplier management processes.

Skills & Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher.
Solid experience in category management.
Technical background with familiarity in semiconductor fabrication. Or chemical's manufacturing.
Experience with chemicals and/or bulk and cylinder gases.
Process engineering or fab related experience is a plus.
Strong communication skills in English
Understanding of corporate financial analysis.
Strong negotiation capabilities.
Ability to prioritize, meet tight deadlines, and work independently.
High sense of urgency and problem solving mindset.
On site role - must work in person at a company location daily.
