The Windchill PLM Manager provides global leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for the enterprise Windchill PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and QMS (Quality Management Systems) application portfolio within a large global organization. This role leads a team of 12 Windchill staff and strategic delivery partners, manages a global PTC Windchill platform supporting 4,000+ users. The Windchill PLM Manager partners closely with cross-functional executive stakeholders to ensure system stability, regulatory compliance, platform reliability, and alignment with overall business goals.
Responsibilities
- Direct, mentor, and develop a global team of 12 Windchill leads, functional analysts, developers, and external consulting partners.
- Own the global PTC Windchill PLM/QMS application roadmap, system upgrades, lifecycle planning, and continuous platform improvements,
- Ensure all application lifecycle activities comply with global regulatory standards, quality guidelines, and validation requirements.
- Partner with Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain leadership to align application delivery with strategic enterprise priorities.
- Oversee application integrations connecting Windchill to core enterprise systems and middleware platforms.
- Manage functional group budgets, operational expenses, software licensing, and strategic technology vendor relationships.
- Drive project delivery frameworks, resource planning, service management standards, and operational risk mitigation across the portfolio.
- Environment consists of a large-scale, AWS-hosted PTC Windchill v13.x environment supporting 4,000+ global users across Windchill QMS, Document Management, Change Management, and Change Control modules, with custom Windchill Java/J2EE application development and multi-system integration utilizing Dell Boomi and SAP BTP, computer system validation (CSV), and ISO and FDA regulatory compliance.\
Qualifications
- Must have 10+ years of enterprise application experience, with 3-5+ years of Windchill PLM Management experience (will consider other PLM platforms: Siemens Teamcenter, Dassault ENOVIA, etc.).
- Experience directly leading teams of 8+ Windchill staff and managing third-party partners.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing enterprise PLM and QMS application portfolios.
- Familiarity with software governance, system validation, quality management compliance, and IT service management principles.
- Strong background in vendor relations, contract negotiations, operational budget management, resource allocation, strategic planning, executive communication, team building, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
