Job Description: Backend Java DeveloperThe Backend Java Developer will be responsible for backend application development, system support, and configuration of the complaints management process on the CMT platform. CMT is a complaints workflow tool built on IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) and hosted on WebSphere. This role will require experience with Java, Java EE (Jakarta EE), and WebSphere.
The position focuses on developing new features to enable workflow compatibility with CMA data, integrating with enhancements to backend services, and providing ongoing application support.
Primary Responsibilities- Analyze user requirements and define application objectives, system features, and functionality.
- Design and develop user interfaces for internet/intranet applications, including setting development priorities and expectations throughout the lifecycle.
- Determine appropriate design methodologies, technologies, and toolsets.
- Develop application components using Java, Java EE, and related frameworks.
- Design, execute, and document test plans to ensure application quality.
- Troubleshoot development and production issues across multiple environments and operating platforms.
- Provide user support by creating documentation, job aids, and other assistance tools.
Qualifications- Hands-on experience designing and developing applications using Java EE (Jakarta EE) platforms.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented analysis and design, including common design patterns.
- Proficiency with relational databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (e.g., JPA2, Hibernate).
- Experience with the Spring Framework.
- Experience developing web applications using at least one major web framework (e.g., JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC).
- Experience with Java/J2EE and Hibernate.
- Familiarity with WebSphere and IBM BAW is highly preferred.
